Indeed. This game will be an 80€ story mode experience, which means after 20-30 hours you're done. In a normal Warriors game you'd then continue to play many more hours trying some of the many characters that are being offered, Origins only has 9 weapons so you'd only get to try 9 of them and when had this series ever so few options to toy around with?
The thing about resetting this series has always been: It doesn't work. The old fans will hate the new game. New customers are the target audience, but the appeal of musou and the reputation of the franchise make it very difficult to lure them in.
I won't be buying this game, but my expectations are it will get pretty good press and player ratings, but sell far behind expectations. Then Koei will close the series for good and instead concentrate on what works for them: Soulslikes with Asian style, Nioh, studio Gust, Romance of the Three Kingdoms for the Asian market, and one time licensed games such as Hyrule Warriors.
Thats sort of a relief.
I heard from those that played that you CANT unlock more clothes for him. That everything is the same because of cutscenes and animations needing him to be in the same outfit and appearance.
So its not true? We CAN have more outfits? Great.
buddy why is your mind runnin to jerkin it? why are YOU so heated because someone used one of the MANY terms for this kinda thing? what, would it have been better if he said it was a "shonen protag" or "isekai MC"? it's a bland term for a late teens early 20-something guy that isnt bad to look at
I also feel like Shonen protagonists are usually way more flashy and overdrawn. They come of unrealistic and usually look like someone you would not encounter in the real world.
The reason why I think the DW Origins main character looks like a Kpop star is: He seems to be under 20, his facial features are feminine, his skin is very smooth and quite frankly especially around the eyes it looks as if he was wearing makeup. And he got the characteristic hairstyle. I simply don't know any other group of men who look like this.
"that time i got transported into a Dynasty warrior historic game world as a nameless mob".
if its Shonan jump then he would look like a kid that never shuts up about "team work & friendship & loli harem".
Kpop star idol description also fit.
The fact that there is no character creator, or at least other character options, is a major disappointment. Still the other improvements to the formula are pretty great, best upgrade in the franchise I've seen in many years. So, I'll still enjoy it, and just pretend the character doesn't look like a weakling with no muscle mass.
My bad Grandpa. The main character looks inexperienced, far too young, and customization has been a stable in most games for 20 years.
Is that better to help you understand or are you so sexually frustrated you see sex everywhere?
Ok I'm honestly a bit disappointed. I don't particulary hate the MC (he looks a bit emo though), but the setting of "nameless nobody joins an epic war" sounds like it's MADE to have a character creator. YOU could be that random dude.
... so, can we name him at least?
im not sure TBH.
the player review video i saw said that there are cloth for him, he didn't bother to check the outfits or the requirement to unlock them.
As mentioned by koinzell, you can unlock more costumes; I've seen one, and the pre-order incentive is the Nameless Warrior Garb from Wo Long, modified to fit this character's animation skeleton instead of Wo Long's defaults...
