Duels are a welcome return for veterans. 4 is the only time i remember them being in the series and most people I have conversed with remember them very fondly. I don't know how I entirely feel about everything in the game yet. Like I do not like all of the slow down highlighting specific things everytime. Hopefully that can be changed. I am hoping the full release will show me more and kind of alleviate some of my worries with answers.
Also since the series has been around so long and they are doing such a drastic shift, it is reasonable for people to have complaints and want certain features from the past that are not there. Btw I myself had no issue with Lu Bu. It felt a little odd playing Wo Long in dynasty warriors but its fun for what it is.
I will say, at the very least, kudos to them for bringing duels back and actually making them enjoyable this time around. DW 4 is my favourite in the series, and duels were NOT one of the reasons why. To see them actually be enjoyable and flow well into the battle is pretty neat.
ive played the demo on both normal and hero difficulty and never had to run to Yuan to save him that i remember, and if he was in a pinch i prob saved him without realizing cause i enjoy running through the battlefield and killing everything, some times there was a warning that someone was close to being defeated, but i never rushed to their location to save them, i just did my usual route and when i got there, they were still alive so i healed them.
my experience with the allies is that they seem less "useless" compared to older games, where it looked like they were just there and sometimes some of them had a side quest in the battlefield, this one ive felt like they actually were helping, in that big confront in front of the gates they actually defeated the guy required to stop enemy's plan while i was nowhere near the guy.
same, i play just like that and hadnt any problem with having to stop everything im doing to run straight to the guy i need to protect so he doesnt die, and like ive said to kyoshi up there, i actually think the allies were more useful in this game and i felt like they were actually helping defeat some generals and not just stay in the same enemy camp for the entire mission without capturing it until i got there and the base leader still had like half hp lol
im really looking foward to the full release, prob will play on hero mode since i didnt felt much difference in the difficulty compared to normal
Honestly I never even knew I was supposed to protect anyone the first time I played, it was just Lu Bu that kicked my ass at the end, I killed the heroes where I was, then moved to the nearest place with other heroes to kill and so on, I don't know how much more you want to roam around the map because I took over every base before getting to Lu Bu
Only as far as the character development and freedom. But performance? No. Graphics? No. Battle? No. All 9 had going was the freedom - but everything was just not good.
You mean the one where you basically ROFLSTOMP Lu Bu with no risk?
You spelled "Dynasty Warriors 3" wrong. Easy mistake to make
No DW5 with Extreme add IS THE BEST DW GAME. Extreme had extreme and Destiny mode two of the best extra modes in any DW game. Also you could not just walk up to Lu Bu and stomp no chance, only in DW7 was he harder. Also Yes DW9 as bad as it was, is still vastly superior in every way to this absolute s*it tip of a game.
