I connect it directly to the laptop if that helps.
Since you can't edit the default steam input given by KT, you'll have to make a duplicate of it that you can edit (export it to a different name), then go to Triggers and map both Full Pull and Soft Pull to the action instead of just Full Pull.
That worked for me.

Had this problem aswell, it is necessary to do because old DS4 controllers might lose the ability to go "Full pull", you can see this in the testing input menu in steam, my own DS4 was doing a max 27k pull out of 32k, therefore not reading as a full pull. this works, i've also uploaded a community layout that says "fix ds4 R2/L2 for Dinasty Warriors", if anyone else can't figure it out and just need a quicker way to fix it.
