I know people will take issue with the whole mysterious protag as potentially the only playable character (I think they are hiding more characters playable in a different mode). I dig it though, the actual gameplay and mechanics are good it's no longer braindead, it's still mashy to an extent but officer fights etc keep you on your toes, especially the battlefield.
It's really really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Too bad my 28 year-old-ass does not have fun with this type of game anymore :(
Ever since Samurai Warriors custom characters, where you actually go through training and such, the level of detail and focus on custom characters was underwhelming.
Hopefully this game has a great success and the developers bring out more games with a focus on your character.
If we get another numbered dw title and the combat doesn't move past this than I'm probably done with dw and their experiments after over 2 decades of playing these games. Hopefully the huge armies of npcs and tactics is something they put in their side games cause sw5 although cutting the cast is more of an evolution in warriors games charge combat than this to me personally.
