Windows XP 32 bits is unfortunately unsupported, as indicated in the System Requirements. Many players still report running the game just fine however on this OS after following the steps detailed here: http://dwf.blogs.com/beyond_the_paper/2009/04/enabling-3gb-switch-on-windows-vista.html (search for "windows xp 3gb switch" for more information).

Windows 7 64 Bit

This is the same issue I'm having! The Red Barrels logo fades away then... Outlast has stopped working. :( I hope it gets fixed soon, I really want to play this game!
I've tried the "-32" switch in launch options with no luck.
is there ANY way that the people at Red Barrels could help me out to force this ♥♥♥♥ to start in a low screen resolution?
I tried the startup thing on steam, i tried deleting those files one of you guys told me to earlier.
uninstalled the game and reinstalled.
I even tried to change some of the code.
but i can't figure that out either. could someone at least help me with what to do here?
