It's extra creepy given that your toolset is a camcorder with an IR view which is essentially how you see in the dark, only turning on IR kills your depth of field and everything is blurry and has that trademark green glow.
I find that with Amnesia, while it is intense, it's a lot easier to write off since it's almost in that realm of fantasy. This game is harder to dismiss if only because it is instantly familiar because of its setting, yet equally strange.
outlast is a scary creepy game but it has more "cheap" scares than amnesia if you know what i mean. Stuff like: sudden scares like something loud and crazy happens out at your face, im quite far in the game and this happens way too often
the game is really linear and scripted too!
if i have to compare the two amnesia is the better game imo, still outlast is great!

Nightmare House 2, yep, a simple HL2 modiffication based on dead girl themed tittles. Why? Because overall suspense kicks screamer' ass and that's for sure :)
