Really....? Any video game will always need a strong (prefered) GPU AND CPU

Certain games "rely" on one moreso over the other, no need to be a ♥♥♥♥.

I don't think it really relies on either all that much, but probably GPU more than anything. I mean theres not much to take up CPU wise besides the AI right?

You should always rely on your GPU when playing video games. Most CPU's nowadays far exeed what games actually require.

To give you all an example, I run a CPU i7 930 overclocked at (4x3.8Mhz), a few weeks ago I looked into my bios and noticed that somehow they were all downclocked to (4x2Mhz) about half the speed they should have been... and I didn't notice for weeks while playing high performance games...

A suggestion if anyone needs a new graphics card, the AMD HD 7870 will play almost any game currently on max settings, and should only cost you between $120-150. I got one last month. :P

as a general rule, single player games lean on the gpu, and large multiplayer games, and espcially mmos also lean on CPU just as much, if not more than the gpu. For example, BF3 singleplayer was cpu light, while 64p multiplayer was quite cpu intensive. another example, in most mmos, when you enter the main city your fps goes down, but your gpu % does not max out, its actually the cpu bottlenecking.

Thanks, Its just because I know some games like natural selection 2 and battelfield seem to rely more on the cpu than the gpu. Wasnt trying to ask a stupid question or anything just would have liked to know.
