Why didn't Miles just leave the asylum?
When he got to the room with all the heads and the guy saying "You have to get the ♥♥♥♥ out of this terrible place", why didn't miles just turn around and go back the way he came? That would certainly be enough proof that some freaky ♥♥♥♥ is going down, right?

That would've been a short game lol. Realistically, I think most people with enough common sense would've turned around, got to a safe distance and called the police. Go down to the station and show them the footage so they can rally SWAT team members and emergency personel to the scene. That's what would happen in real life. The fact that you asked this question is a thumbs up for the developers. This game isn't just about horror, survival and hiding. It's also about not having any control at all. You felt that, you didn't like that situation so you asked this question.

Because as a good journalist that is he, and like delve and make good his job. Besides that as the fellow above says, the game would be short.

Heheh! Definitely.

good journalist? more like stupid journalist to be honest, i think he is mentally challanged, that's why he didn't leave it, it felt like home to him

Good journalist, yes, he just wanted to finish his work. And it's a game, we must also consider.
This has been pointed out before and is true but I suppose you never really should use logic in regard to some film and videogame storylines. They're made for the purpose of drama so you can't expect the characters to always take the most logical way out of situations.

There is a reason. After you enter the first vent and the guy jumps into the room screaming walrider he locks the door behind him. This removes your only escape, though I do supose if he really wanted to he could have just broken a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ window.

Wernicke said no one can come out alive while Walrider is alive. Also, you could not leave the asylum, the main gates were closed, Miles went to the security room to unlock the main gates, but came Father Martin and...

Well, as indicated at the beginning of the game, is a journalist who likes to delve into mysterious places, he received the mail by Waylon Park, and decided to investigate because it is a strong journalist with his work. Anyway, who the ♥♥♥♥ can would imagine all ♥♥♥♥ that's in that asylum? It is unimaginable.

Welcome to the question that defies the logic of nearly 90% of horror flicks. "OMG! This looks terrible and horrifying! I better go investigate further!" :chris:

That logic doesn't exist because it is a game, and not pretend that the game will have a duration of 15 minutes...

Also, if it were not for Miles came to the end, would not logic to continue with the DLC and probably a sequel. The DLC would have no logical because it is tied to the events of Miles.

When Miles was climbing on the outside of the building he probably should have just let go and hope for the best landing possible. The asylum isn't that big, you can survive a 2 story drop if you land properly

Yes, and then? The game would end, and that would not have logic, people would have spent money for a short and slightly scary game. Also, if it was not for Miles, Waylon had died.

Also, I remember you that the main gates are closed, he tried to open it to escape, but could not.

I'm not talking about the length of the game, i meant if this were a real life situation.
