After Whistleblower, I'm waiting to see what they do next. I would like to see that. Maybe for Outlast 2 ? :3

In Outlast (the first) It was planned that he would be raped, and that a pig would be seeing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a dead body. glad they didnt put that last one in

The last one would fit more with Amnesia: AMFP ^^
It can't get worst...or can it?

Sometimes, I believed they programmed Outlast + Whistleblower while being in an Asylum and programming everything into the game they see everyday. :D

Well, if Cat Stevens can write and release music records from an asylum (True story), why can't a bunch of loons that escaped from Naughty Dog and Ubisoft develop and release games from an asylum? :P

Uhm, did you remake this thread lol? I had made a post in it but I guess you remade this thread or I somehow screwed up on sending it. >_<

My thoughts were such (Warning: I get pretty frank at one point.): I'm glad they cut this scene from the game. In fact I worried that there was going to be rape in the game since I saw a preview with the naked guys stalking you and then when I first started the game I saw the "Explicit Sexual Content" label. Normally I would see that label and go "Eh, I've had sex, my friends have had sex, pretty much everyone has had sex - so why should I panic over seeing someone else have sex?" but in a horror game filled with shock moments, my mind could only imagine the sexual aspects being violent and so I had to wait for a friend to confirm it didn't have rape in it before I could play.

The simple fact is I can't handle rape in the media (Games, movies, books, comics, etc.) unless it is handled in a respectful, subtle, and mature way, otherwise it not only offends me but as a victim I can very easily go into panic or shock due to rape related PTSD, and to be honest Outlast isn't mature and subtle enough to pull it off. It's a game built on shock tactics and is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up - but I think rape is where they should draw the line and I'm glad they did. I'm not saying that games can't bring up the topic, Silent Hill 2 for example hinted strongly that Angela was raped by her father and that was what led to her confused childlike persona begging for mothers attention and fearing men; but the game didn't exploit it, it found a way to imply that was what happened to her and yes the game tried to express her agony but not in a direct and explicit way and it also focused on her learning to put it in her past and move on. That's how it should be done.

In Outlast? Well, I know they can't show penetration/erections anything like that and keep an M Rating, but no doubt you'd still see those creepy naked guys (I feel like the rape scene would have had to be with them, especially since you head to the showers after an encounter with them...) and you'd likely see everything in a first person perspective ala the rest of the game, and in some ways that would be far worse in my eyes.

Wait, what?! I mean, fair enough if that was put in, you see necrophilia in the game anyway...but...where would the pig have come from? lol

Not sure if you're getting confused with both statements, but the pig ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the dead body idea is definitely from Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

"Pinchbeck: There was a pig ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a dead body. The problem was it just looked like the pig was raping someone. It started off ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a female body, and actually it just looked like rape. So we switched it out for a male body, and it looked like gay rape. No better. We were trying to make a point of how animalistic the pigs were. But it didn’t add enough to justify the schlock."

actually I would not be surprised. There was a time when I thought cutting off the guy's finger was too much, but after Whistleblower... damn
