Outlast Multiplayer (Splitscreen and Online)

Hello there!
So, I had an idea a few months ago that other people have also requested - what if Outlast had multiplayer?
Red Barrels should make this for both PC and PS4 (I play Outlast on PS4, but for some reason also bought the game for PC).

Imagine it, you being able to -

Become the hunter and be an antagonist.

Play throughout the asylum without limits (maybe customizable (as host, be able to make it so you have to collect keys and what not to access areas)).

Level up (each level would give you possibly a new character to play as, skill, etc).

Play with friends.

And more!

Once you beat Outlast (and DLC) like I have, or if you already have, you will realize that you can't do much else except play the chapters over again and maybe beat the game on insane.

Red Barrels, if you are reading this, or anyone else, wouldn't this sound like a fun way to give players more gameplay and thrill?

I think it should be online multiplayer and split screen but as in you and whoever else that's joined are in the asylum, the patients are roaming free and you have to survive which could mean you have to sabotage other survivers (you still can't fight or it would be like any other game, maybe you could push other players) and you have to get some kind of supplies otherwise there wouldn't be much of a challenge. But you can still hide. Imagine finding another player and then hearing a patient coming so you both have to hide. What if there was only one hiding place in the room? Who'd survive?

I haven't completed this particular game yet, but..

No! Just no! Co-op/multiplayer will completely kill anything that's considered a horror game. Seriously, just think about it for a second. Co-op/multiplayer is considered to be fun. Survival Horror games are supposed to be played alone, in the dark and scare the sh*t out of you.

Another thing to consider is that with multiplayer games there will always be sh'theads trying to ruin your experience, just for "fun"...

In other words: wrong genre for this kind of question.

This is an old thread, over time I also began to agree that online would destroy the game. But, once you beat the game, there isn't really much to do execpt go back and try to get achievements or trophies. Though, something like what the_jesteress_ said would be fine I guess, just something as serious as possible to try to keep as much as the scary atmosphere as possible (limited amount of players, maybe like only 2) - Though, I would only agree to that if it were only available to those who completed the game. Just so players that are new don't go straight off into multiplayer to get less of the game's experience.
