How to launch game from exe in Steam?

I'm trying to bypass the default launcher and reference the main game exe from Steam.

I've tried the following in Steam launch options, but the default launcher is still called, preventing the game from loading.

Outlast - "E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Outlast\Binaries\Win64\OLGame.exe" %command%

Same thing for Outlast 2
Outlast 2 - "E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Outlast 2\Binaries\Win64\Outlast2.exe" %command%

Background

Opening Outlast or Outlast 2 from steam will launch the initial window, but both games hang once the launcher attempts to open the game in full screen mode. Both games, however, run perfectly fine when started with the main exe file.

That said, I'd still prefer to be able to run these games directly from steam.
