I'm stuck - Jumping to ladder in sewer section?

Hi,

I'm stuck in the sewers. I know I'm not the first one. The part in the big dark place full of water and the fat guy chasing you. Somewhere in the middle there's a stairway and a ramp where you must jump on a ladder. How many times I've tried, I can never grab the ladder and always fall back into the water where I get killed by the fatty most of the time. Am I missing something? Even if I jump at the last moment possible straight on the ladder I miss it. It's starting to get frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated.

ok, first of all, try to always stick to the right wall. The fatass (whose name is Chris Walker btw) will never get to you if you stick to the right side. Then, when you see the ladder, try to get to it. Chris Walker will start noticing you once you are on the first platform thingy. About jumping on the ladder at the right time... idk, that's mostly just parkour skills. You can also watch youtubers playing at that point to have somewhat of a vision on what you need to do

I usually go to the left, look for the light from the manhole, and head towards it.

Thnx for your comments. Well, I tried a couple of dozens of times more and finally, all of a sudden succeeded. And now, 10 minutes later I'm stuck again in the Male Ward were you have to do that big jump over the ledge. Again, Googled some and watched some YT footage. Everyone is doing some sort of long jump but I can't do it. I also tried without holding the camera, then first press forward, then sprint (while holding forward) and then jump (still holding down fw and sprint) at the very last moment. Also tried without holding sprint, so just fw and then jump. Doesn't seem to make any difference. And of course everytime the same chase sequence over and over -_- About to give up, this isn't even remotely fun anymore.

EDIT: solved, finally figured out to let go of sprint and a fraction of second later to jump.

Stuck because of the same reason. This game doesn't feel scary anymore, it's just annoying :/

EDIT: OK, I found the solution. As the user Road Runner mentioned above, you can't run and press 'jump' at the same time.
