"Match the numbers for free play"
I feel kinda stupid asking this, but...the matching number feature at the end of most table rounds does not work for me at all, is it disable on all tables ?

They're not supposed to work. There's no point in giving free plays in a pinball video game since you can play the table an unlimited number of times, unlike a real table where you're constantly sticking in coins to keep playing. FS left it in so you can view the animations for the tables (if any).

I see, I was somehow thinking in terms of Pinball Fantasies where you get an extra ball when you get matching numbers. The difference is clear now, thanks x)

The chance for a free game was something those specific pinball machines had and adds to the realism.

They should add a coin op mode just for kicks and giggles. Maybe we can set a coin limit in a single session for ourselves. Then the free games would actually mean something. :)

You can play in coin op mode if you own the pro version of the table. Go into the operator settings and change the game from free play to coin operated, but there's not any key or button in the game to add coins to the slot so you have to keep going back to the operator menu to manually add credits through the operator menu when you run out.

In the end, it's just a piece of what made the original tables what they were. Remember that they were originall meant to eat quarters with a game of skill.

I also was a bit confused about this at first so you are not the only one. ;) But after a while I figured out you could win an extra free GAME and that it's only there for added realism. Having said that, I wouldn't mind if I had the option to turn that feature off because it takes quite some time... ;)

You'll be able to turn it off in factory settings, unfortunately only unlocked by buying pro-mode. There are a lot of older tables that just don't to that, like most 'ancient' Gottlieb tables.

It does match sometimes, even clicks after doing so.

Yes, it does match but there is nothing to be gained from it.

Downloaded the free-to-play version today and wondered about the very same thing. Since match doesn't do anything, why not have an option to disable it?

And if I'm not mistaken, instead of giving out credits, reaching the replay score awards an extra ball? That's not realistic either, if the original machine(s) don't have it.

The tables use, mostly, the actual ROMS, so it can't be changed at all.
