How To Install SHTUP-ND?
I tried putting it in the main SS2 folder and then I tried unpacked in the DMN folder or whatever it's called and then I did it as a folder in the DMM folder and it still won't work. How do I install it?

by following the guide.[www.systemshock.org] you might want to make a clean install of the game first, to make sure all the files from your previous attempts have been cleaned up.

Awesome, thanks again.

If you're looking to mod and overhaul your game, I'd highly recommend checking this out.

that's slightly outdated - there is no need to manually extract things anymore, the mod manager will do it for you.
The thingy doesn't work, but I'd rather do it manually anyway actually. Anyway to do that? I've installed this once before but I can't remember what I did, and I'm fairly certain I used the non-Steam version anyway. I've tried both.

ok, first, SHTUP is not a hd texture pack by any means, so the difference might not be as obvious at the first glance - a good way of checking is starting a new game, going to the nearest phone booth and seeing if you can read the text. if you can read "welcome to globalcom", SHTUP is active.

if you are sure it's not active, try again from square one - make a clean install of the game, patch it up with SS2tool, and load the mod as instructed in the guide (it's literally three steps/clicks, it's pretty much impossible to mess it up as long as you read it properly).

it's not recommended to mess around files manually, especially if you have difficulties setting the game up even with the automated tools, which were designed to be as user friendly as possible.

I don't have problems with the installation in terms of messing it up or not knowing what to do. The issue is that the tool just freezes. I left it open for an hour and tried again and still no luck. But I'd rather not have another program on my computer anyway. When I installed it manually twice once it wouldn't boot up and the second it just wasn't working. I know it's objects only. I checked boxes, camera controls, the help stuff, vases, everything. Absolutely without aq doubt the original textures.

ah, that can happen, most likely your firewall not letting the tool through. we can troubleshoot if you are interested (go to systemshock.org and post the logs at the Helpdesk), if you aren't, you can install the modmanager manually[www.systemshock.org], and then load any mod as mentioned in the guide.

note that this will not load any bugfixes, scripts and other things some mods require (so generally, I wouldn't recommend omitting the tool), but it should be enough if SHTUP is the only thing you want.
