"Leaving Lobby" right after starting coop game
Whenever I go to start a cooperative game, it says leaving lobby as soon as I create it then "the connection to the game failed".

I'm having the same problem. And even on the off chance I can finally get one made, my girlfriend can't join me at all.

I'm so glad they updated a 5+ year old game and messed it up even more. If it isn't broke, Rebellion, don't fix it.

Same here did you find a way to get it to work?
I never found a way to make it work, even after uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying files, and other manners of "workarounds" suggested by the community in various threads. I gave up and uninstalled the game for good. Can at least still play SE4 with friends, but... it does make me wary of eventually jumping on SE5 if I'm not going to be able to play it with anyone else after a random "update" years later.

I validated the game files and got it working :)

Hey, for me it worked to start the SniperElite3.exe as Administrator

If verifying game files did not work, setting SniperElite3.exe to run as Administrator worked for me.

Right click on Sniper Elite 3 in Steam. Go down to MANAGE > Browse local files. Open the Launcher folder. Right click on the Sniper3Launcher file and go to properties. Click Compatibility tab at the top. Check the box that says "Run this program as an Administrator." Click Apply then OK.

It should work after that.

It does not fix it for me sadly.

anything else you suggest?

I ran into this problem, and it's pretty persistent for me, but I've found a way around it.

First off, I did the following two things.

1: Set the Launcher to run as administrator. NOT the game executable, just the launcher. The earlier comment in this thread tells you how.
2: Open all relevant network ports in my firewall

And then every time I want to play, I do the following.

1: Verify integrity of game cache
2: Exit Steam
3: Relaunch Steam
4: Launch Sniper Elite 3

It's weird but it seems to work, and if I don't do those last four steps I run into the lobby issue without fail.

Edit: Never mind, none of that actually fixes the problem. Just quit the game and relaunch until it connects to lobby.

Had the same issue, starting in administrator mode fixed it :)

any solution? I'm facing this issue with SE3

Same, tried the above work-arounds but no luck. No problems connecting to multiplayer lobbies either, only co-op.

Looks like I'm screwed too. Bought the game to play in co-op with a friend, and despite having everything verified and both the launcher & game set to run as Admin; no luck. Closes any co-op lobby I try to create & can't connect to my mate either.

Hope there's a fix eventually :L

Yeah, it's broken on my end too, I tried every workaround imaginable from Google.

Verifying game cache
Running as Administrator
Changing DNS
Deleting from firewall and re-adding
Stopping the firewall entirely

You literally have to re-launch the game until you get lucky and I have no idea why I get lucky. The odds are inconsistent too, sometimes it works multiple times in a row, other times it does not work even after 5 re-launches. And my friend has to go through the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too. What a waste of time.

Update: After like 50 more attempts I can conclude that we are completely unable to play the game in co-op. Sometimes we manage to get through the error that prevents us from making a lobby, but even if we both are able to create lobbies after many re-launches, we can't join each other.

We also tried deleting the save games (backup too) and turning off cloud-sync, still doesn't work. Also tried port-forwarding, Hamachi, no success.

I don't even care about the game anymore, I just wanted to find out why it does not work, but I give up, this ♥♥♥♥ is busted.

Rebellion, fix it please, it can't be that hard.

FINAL EDIT: It works just fine with the multiplayer crack from online-fix (dot) me. It's crazy that a crack works better than the official game. The game will start as "TOXIKK" similar to the "Spacewar" method many other mp cracks use, you might need to add TOXIKK to your library beforehand. You also have to edit "cream_api.ini", change "language = russian" to "language = english".

If you're starting the game from Special K (great software for borderless windowed gaming and unlocked framerate), it tracks your playtime in the original game, not just in TOXIKK by starting them both. It won't track your achievements though.

You will have to alt-tab and invite your friend when you are in a lobby from Steam's "Friends & Chat" UI by right-clicking your friend and pressing "Invite to Game" with this method, since Steam thinks that you are in the original SE3 in Shift-Tab mode, not the fake TOXIKK SE3.

since this problem still exists rebellion is asking for me to necro this.

the admin trick still work sort of but the path i had to walk was weird or else steam would get in a loop trying to relaunch it.

1) first fix everything you did. undo all the run as admin crap. all of it. this is actually the important last step too ill remind you because you didn't.

2) copy the SniperEliteIII.exe, paste it into the launcher directory.

3) delete the launcher. rename the exe you just pasted to be the launcher name.

4) triple check that fukken admin flag in the properties. make sure it is off.

5) right click your new fake launcher.exe and "run as administrator" instead.

6) it will still try to relaunch itself because its stupid but after that, the game launched and the coop system worked.

that said it took about 15 minutes. if you actually want a good sniper elite game go play se4 lol. this one has all sorts of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the aim and animations and stuff. note the "4" because "5" is like their goal was go back to this.
