Why you're asking to explain while you just did ? It's the ending, that's how it ends, that's it. The story is about tracking a bad guy, we track him and kill him, and we're done.

There's plenty of targets worthy of a bullet = it's 1942-1943 when this story takes place. The Afrika campaign, Italy sided with Nazis. So OF COURSE the war is not over. It just began, remember it ended in 1945.

Your main mission throughout the whole game is to find any information about the Top Secret Ratte factory, eliminating anyone invlove with it and destroy the tank, killing the man behind it and then, get gone. Mission Complete. As for the reason of killing that dood, Karl didn't like being told that him and he were the same and it was also for killing that British dude.

Not that it's partiulary bad, but just saying.
