Scope Does Not Work

Aiming down the sites with a scoped rifle does not bring up the scoped view. It just zooms the crosshair like iron sight guns. No help from the developer. This is my last Sniper Elite Game.

Thanks for trying to help but I've tried all buttons. I even tried a working XBoneOne Controller.

If you are looking thru the scope then "zoom in" should be your mouse wheel. Toggle scope bind to mouse2."Focus time" bind to what ever you want to activate steady scope and extra zoom.

I can't look through the scope at all. It treats scoped weapons as iron-sighted weapons. It was a problem reported back when the game first shipped but apparently never addressed by the dev. It only affects some people. It also happened on consoles and rebooting or changing out the scope reticles fixed it for some but it was never fully addressed on the official forums by the dev.

So does it switch from 3rd person to 1st person view, but just no zoom?

May be a video driver sort of problem if it can't overlap that particular graphic and adjust the viewport.

Stays in 3rd person just zooms in exactly, completely and totally like aiming a handgun or smg.

That behavior seems like a key mapping problem then. That's the action that occurs when you hit Ctrl. The Right Mouse Button should activate zoom.

Any chance the keyboard bindings in game are messed up? There are Scope and Scope Toggle options in the Controls menu. You could try setting new keys to those. Default is Scope = Mouse 2, and Scope Toggle is unset.

Also, do you have any special programs running that are meant to provide additional keyboard/mouse button mapping for other games, or apps? Something like a hotkey manager.

I think Kroden is right sounds like a key binding problem, check your mapping. I usually change all my key bindings for all games so I never had this problem with SE but I have read about it and usually people get it corrected when they change there keys. Good Luck.

Have you tried setting controls to default then trying again?

Yes, to all the suggestions. Nothing has worked. I uninstalled the game. I'll redownload and see if it corrects the issue.
