These steam downloads can be corrupt, example i had the DLC [ Allied reinforcements out fits pack ] there were at leaste 3 characters missing , verifying the game cache diid not fix it , i unticked the installed box and then veryfied game cache , steam then redownloaded the allied package and i ended up getting more out fits for the package.

Your problem though could be ? Nvidia card ? latest driver [ 378 ]

Try rolling it back to version [ 376.33 ] or better IMO to do a clean install of 376.33 , I did a clean install of 376.33 and things improved a lot , i downloaded 376.33 to desktop , then delete 378 via controll panel add / remove prog. Then installed 376.33 from my desktop and Importantly i went for option { clean install } not express install as that comes with garbage attached. i also downloaded the GPU adjust tool from the site and ramp up GPU Cooling by about 20% when the game is active , hope this helps.

If you get into difficulty guys please refer your queries to www.rebellion.co.uk/support and we can investigate further.

Sniper Elite 3 always worked fine for me, but now it won't (same problem for me as OP). The game was running fine the last time I played it (Christmas-time), but now it won't even start. Verifying the game cache hasn't helped.

EDIT: I found a workaround that didn't involve rolling back drivers or anything else. I located the actual EXE file for the game (Steam/SteamApps/Common/Sniper Elite 3/Bin/SniperElite.exe) and double-clicked that to run it instead of using the usual Steam shortcut. It worked perfectly!

Been attempting to play Sniper Elite 3 and it randomly crashes during missions. Have not had any problems with other games so I know its not my computer:

Windows 10 Pro
Core i7 6700K
eVGA 1080 using latest Nvidia driver 378.49
16 GB RAM
Several HD including SSD
Asus PG278Q Monitor

This fixed mine, download the Driver V 376.33 to your desktop, delete Driver 378.49 add /remove / control panel / .
Then double click desktop Driver 376.33 and do this , do not go for Express Install , go with the other option and chose Clean Install, mine has been ok ever since Nvidia EVGA GTX 950 ,
i`am on Win 7 pro , so chose the driver from Nvidia that is correct for your OS .
i will buy a GTX 1060 for SE4 and may be see what happens when it is installed.

Yep, can confirm that driver 378.49 is the culprit. In my case, the game was using a lot of memory, in less than 10 minutes +6gb usage, and then runtime error ctd. Now with 376.33 the game uses about 800mb of ram, and never crashes. Thanks zx12 for the solution.:steamhappy:

I did verify game files after switching back to 376.33 and still same crash.

Try running the game directly from the exe file (Steam/SteamApps/Common/Sniper Elite /Bin/SniperElite3.exe) instead of using the shortcut in Steam. That fixed it for me. I didn't need to roll back the nvidia drivers either - the game is now working fine for me in 378.49 (and I can now start it from Steam too - it just needed to be run from the exe just once which got it past the crash).

Thanks for quick answer but even when I launch it directly from exe file I still get crash on loading screen. Well I submited ticket and hopefully we come up with solution.

? Did you do a { Clean Install } of the 376.33, those drivers ship with loads of crap you do not need.
Originally people got MS C++ Run time error and i got this as well
