Personally, I can see it working on the console units, because they're built on the same platform and are supposed to work together, but I don't see how it will work on a PC. Maybe if they just utilized a second monitor for the map and such, but I don't understand how they'll port part of the game to a touchscreen device like an Android tablet. I'm no programmer, though, so who knows?
Well, at least that means they're working on it?
Any ideas how it would work? Would you need a special app on the android device to connect to the game on your computer? Would it all be LAN traffic, or do you think the Internet would be involved, necessitating screwing around with firewall configs? I think it would be really cool, I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around the concept.
That might be true but nobody really knows. Theres alot more to it than just enabling a second monitor to run certain functions within the game though. What is known is that
1. If it ever does work you will have to have an Intel proc it will not work with AMD for some reason. Why? who knows, but this was stated in the requirments from Intel if you wanted to use it.
2. It seems that now the tech for the dual screen function has become a bit of vaproware since Intel went silent on its software which is rather annoying since I was really looking forward to this function with the game and was one of the reasons why I bought the DC version in the first place.
I'm not sure if this is correct - I believe I read somewhere in the official SE forum that it will work with AMD processors even though the wording seems to say otherwise on Intel's site.
Is this related at all?
I don't see the functionality of this being useful at all on PC and feels like it'd take away more from the game then it would add to it.
