PC Second Screen.
Is that second screen option in the PC version of the DC. Because people have been saying it's not in it even though it's mentioned in the game overview on steam and in the manual. Please help me.

There are some other threads on this, and I think right now it's unclear. It seems that the documentation references it, so it's possible it will be unlocked in a patch, but SE hasn't made any comment on it yet.

Personally, I can see it working on the console units, because they're built on the same platform and are supposed to work together, but I don't see how it will work on a PC. Maybe if they just utilized a second monitor for the map and such, but I don't understand how they'll port part of the game to a touchscreen device like an Android tablet. I'm no programmer, though, so who knows?

its in place but not enabled yet it uses a html5 (aka android and ios friendly) webpage for the second screen, but as ive said it doesnt work yet

Well, at least that means they're working on it?

Would definitely make a great addition for those of you with touchscreens.

Any ideas how it would work? Would you need a special app on the android device to connect to the game on your computer? Would it all be LAN traffic, or do you think the Internet would be involved, necessitating screwing around with firewall configs? I think it would be really cool, I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around the concept.

I'd figure it would be something that tied to iOS because they already have a product related to this series on that system. Which would make good business sense because then the customer may be tempted to play and entire game on their iOS hardware and lo and behold there is one.

All you would need is a second monitor. You could use things like touch screen tvs, wacom cintiqs, the toshiba libretto and other dual screen laptops, etc.

Is this still coming?

Apparently Intel never finished the technology to make it work, or there was some holdup with Microsoft. I think at this point, it will never be added to the game.

They don't even need intel technology. All they got to do is use the multi-monitor functionality. Display the 2nd window on monitor 2 if it exists.

That might be true but nobody really knows. Theres alot more to it than just enabling a second monitor to run certain functions within the game though. What is known is that

1. If it ever does work you will have to have an Intel proc it will not work with AMD for some reason. Why? who knows, but this was stated in the requirments from Intel if you wanted to use it.

2. It seems that now the tech for the dual screen function has become a bit of vaproware since Intel went silent on its software which is rather annoying since I was really looking forward to this function with the game and was one of the reasons why I bought the DC version in the first place.

I'm not sure if this is correct - I believe I read somewhere in the official SE forum that it will work with AMD processors even though the wording seems to say otherwise on Intel's site.

I dunno. That's what Eidos said the holdup was.

I'm pretty sure the second screen is a WiiU only thing for the most part.

I don't see the functionality of this being useful at all on PC and feels like it'd take away more from the game then it would add to it.
