Impossible to rescue the hostages ?
In the first real mission, I can't rescue the hostages since they are already dead when I come. Also, when I enter in the room where there is 3 guys, just in front of the place where are the hostages, I see during 0,5 second the communication opening then it disappeard. I can pretty remember that the Sarif's informatician (I can't remember his name) tell you something when you enter, but the conversation never happens. Can someone solve my problem ?

you have to replay from the earlier save (or beginning) to be able to save them.
if you are slow to follow Sarif's order and wander around HQ for too long - then factory bomb goes off and you won't save them.

Yeah, you should head straight to the helipad after you arrive at Sarif HQ, if Sarif starts to speak to you telling to move faster, then it's already too late to save all hostages. Just forget about HQ, you will return there later and can loot and speak to everyone after the mission.

Thanks.

I thought they only died if you took so long he actually messages you to say they've been killed, whilst still in Sarif HQ? Do they actually still die if he reminds you to hurry up once or twice?

O.o this is new to me, is this only in the directors cut? I've never had them killed and I take forever just chilling in HQ looting/hacking. I replay all the time and have never seen this happen.

I took more time in the original edition in the HQ and they were still alive. Anyway, I'm going to make a new game, just to be sure.

Sarif told me only that "the situation got worst" but not that.

It was in the original too. If you spend so long in HQ that he tells you they've been killed, they're dead. But if he tells you to hurry, if you rush through the factory and know exactly where you're going, you can get there in the last 20 seconds.

Great how they punish you for exploring the game and taking your time with it... -.- After I figured out that hostages will die if you take too long (which I did, because I like to explore and talk to people) I just said "♥♥♥♥ you, game, I'm gonna take my time to explore... screw your hostages"

Yes 15 min. just Sarif warns you to hop on the helicopter, I confirm.
Minor conversations, how to address the bad gossips of an employee of Sarif or spying the conversation in the ladies bathroom on the ground floor ( which then follow a warning to be entered in the ladies bathroom, it reminds you of something ? :steammocking: ). However quick things that can be done, before taking the helicopter, because no longer will be given the opportunity to make them.

I always sneak in the rooftop (vents) way(( which, by the way enables me to find a scoped, silenced sniper rifle)) then eventually find a vent that takes me to a beam in the top of a big room to cross which takes you to a vent leading to the hostages. Diabling the bomb. THEN i go ballz to the wall killing !!! hehe I dont kill anyone untill i get that bomb disabled though...

Gonna necro this thread to say I had no idea the hostages would die if you lolly gagged too long in HQ but I accidentally triggered it today after starting a new game and having to leave the computer for a while while I was standing in the lobby. I thought it was some random thing that I'd never seen before but now realize I just took too long. Crazy I've played through this game dozens of times and never had that happen before.
