Does takedowns take energy like in the original
This is the only thing holding me back from getting the game. I always thought takedown defense taking energy was the dumbest gameplay move in gaming(maybe not). The takedowns weren't special by any means so why the energy consumption. I started killing to save energy for more important tasks. Please let me know.
Thank you.

Yep. Still does. The only change to the energy system is that on easier difficulties, you can regenerate two energy cells instead of one.

This hasn't ever bothered me too much. If the takedowns didn't cost energy, they'd be seriously overpowered.

Ok, Which difficulties then? I planned on playing it on hard mode.

Easy and Normal you regen up to two batteries. On Hard you only regen up to one battery.

you don't actually use energy on any important tasks. I just got the factory zero achievement on the hardest difficulty and i didn't even use any candybars. Upgraded regenerations gets you a fairly quick takedown energy and the only thing you actually need the energy and candy bars for is the cloaking aug in the tough spots like the crash site. Limiting takedowns a little is actually a fun challenge for the player but even if you feel the urge to beat up everyone you see, it's really quite easy just to upgrade energy regeneration and take it a little bit slower and you won't even have to use candy bars at all, i know i only used them for taking down larger groups quickly and with cloak turned on.

You're worried about energy for takedowns? There are plenty of energy bars/jars in the game world, and for 90% of the game, you only need 1 cell full to take down most enemies. If you're so concerned about waiting an extra 10-15 sec, get the recharge augs early and the double takedown. Those will increase your efficiency a lot. By the end of the game, I usually have 20-30 bars, 10-20 packs, and about 10 jars. And yes I do ghost for fun and I hate to leave any man behind conscious :)
