I'm going to have to watch the video above to see how it cam be done. Still didn't get my foxy credit though. I have no idea whats up with that?
He did most of the boss fights by using a metal crate instead of guns.
For the foxiest of hounds achievement you've probably just missed a camera turning red somewhere or you're overlooking some part in the game not realising you've set an alarm off. Sometimes they turn red and no alarm will signal. There are a few sneaky ones you've got to watch out for. 2 in the Barrett fight, one of them you would miss when fighting him. I remember the lift upto the TYM building tower if you don't stand in the corner towards the door alarms go off. The Zhao boss fight at the end, as soon as it starts you've got to get into cover as the turret guns will go red, you need to keep them green.
Probably the easiest way to get it is play on lowest difficulty and use the cloaking system all the time to pass areas with cameras and turrets etc. It was one of the first augs i got and upgraded fully as you can just pass hostile areas so quickly and not have to do stealth tactics. Also try to limit the running about you do in bases as you're footsteps can set off alarms below you wihtout you realising it.
Well, that might be one of my prblems cuz I never play on the easiest level. But I was under the impression that Boss fights didn't go against the Foxiest achievement, or any of the achievements. I thought Boss fights were seperate scoring? I don't do the game wiki thing so it takes me much longer to get some of these anyways. I'm just making the efoort to get the e-book one now. I've known about it for a while but I don't ever get the Icarus aug during the TYM missions. I still have two mystery achievements on my board to do. Haven't the foggiest what they are. Might be a while for them. :-)
Yeah i think the alarms and cameras in boss fights count against your foxiest achievement. I know the Barrett fight has 2, the last one on Panchea with the turret guns and with the directors cut they included cameras in the 2nd and 3rd bosses. They must count as there is a way to kill the bosses and not have them turn red.
As for the e-book thing, you've basically got to check everywhere. Go through every room, check under every box, every secret passage.
I never use the wiki, but if you check the global achievements rather than your personal acheivements you can see which achievements you're missing. Its an option if you can't figure out what your missing and your not really getting the solution, just the name of the achievement.
I scored my e-book Doctorate, finally. I knew where they all where, it was getting the neccessary augs to go for them. Had to make a special play through. Again, no FOH award!
I was reading that there is some game file Steam puts on your computer that you must delete if you want the FOH achievement. That and uncheck cloud sync and delete all your saves. I unchecked cloud sync and deleted all my saves. No Joy. I'm going to have to find that article that gave the file name and where to find it. I just finished one more all ghost all smooth op game for no achievement. :-(
On the way up to the TYM tower in that long elevator ride did you hear alarms going off, because thats a possible cause of not getting the achievement. You have to stand right in the back corner to stop them going off, stand anywhere else and you can hear alarms and it might break the achievement. Other than that and the boss fight cameras and turrets, i can't think of any other sneaky hidden things that might break the achievement and as you say it may be a Steam problem.
When i did my runtrough I hardly ever ran so my footsteps wouldn't alert anything, and did a lot of crouch walking and also used the cloaking device ALOT. Some levels are just a breeze to get through with the cloaking device like Singapore and Panchea but you need to stock up on energy bars.
Nah. It's none of that stuff. All that is very easy for me to get by. If I'm going to set off an alarm it's because of that damn laser sight on head shots at a particular distance. Everything says you are on target but once you pull the trigger it's a complete miss and the AI goes violent and it seems like every other AI is tripping alarms and coming your way. Do you know that experience. It's not a distance pistol shot, it's like medium, the laser dot covers the face and usually it's a quiet kill. Just a soft uuugh! and he goes down or walks towards you a couple of steps dead. Mostly the miss is because you are crouched and shooting up, I think. That shot can catch me out once or twice in game. Especially when shooting the AI onboard RBS for some unexplained reason. Maybe the closer quarters?
Did you check out my mission challenge?
Yes, and you have to use some kind of 'weapon/tool' to break through and weaken her enough to get to the cut scene.
