Another Love story with Adam Jenson?Bring back JC Denton!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tired of this.

Deus Ex HR was basically a love story for like the first half, he was looking for that one chick. Totally ruined the vibe, the conspiracies were the 2nd half.

JC Denton/Deus Ex 1 were way better. From the getgo I felt like a secret agent working for something bigger than myself unraveling the mysteries. I felt like conspiracies/the world was the mainstory line.


Sorry but Im sad that they gave into the n00bs by making Adam Jenson the main guy again...JC Denton deserves respect.

How is avenging your supposed dead girlfriend a "love story"? Half the plot was him coming to terms with being augmented, and dealing with the world changing around him. He barely interacted with Megan, and had no romantic dialog with ANY female character besides her in the game.

Also, he wasn't "looking for her" He had no idea she was even still alive until WAY late into the game, and didn't know where she was to even BEGIN a resue attempt until later than that. 80-90% of the time, he was doing jobs for Sarif and fixing people's problems.

I still don't understand. How is Adam wanting to save someone he thought was dead, and was clearly in danger, a "love story"? Can't we say the same for when JC had to save his brother? It just seems like kind of a stretch to me.

Also, just throwing this out there, In the new trailer for Humanity Divided, you only see Megan for a fraction of a second, and Adam doesn't even really talk about her. The whole trailer is him dealing with how the world has changed since his actions in Human Revolution. I doubt he will have any time for romance given the basic plotline outlined in the trailer.

If you read and actually pay attention to dialogue for the first half of the game, it's setting up all the weird unanswered things. Such as a good story should with it's rising actions.

Megan being missing IS a conspiracy.
She is a part of the plan with the conspiricists behind the attack on Sariff, so therefore she is directly related.

I don't think the Deus Ex community could ever become as...special, as the Mass Effect community. As for the topic at hand: JC is literally born in the year in which Mankind Divided takes place, so unless you want to play as a NANOMACHINE! augmented toddler, I would say playing as Denton would be out of the question. That and they still need to show the downfall of their transhuman Renaissance that was the key theme of HR. So, playing as Adam again makes perfect sense.

But please, can we really stop the character bickering? Can't we all just agree on hating Alex D. instead?

But yeah, OP has it all wrong. Adam isn't looking for Megan, he's looking for the guys who killed Megan. Megan is assumed dead!
