Then theyy changed the lighting and gave you the DLCs included. Repackaged it as the DC version and stopped selling the older versions.
The Missing Link may or may not be enjoyed seperately as it takes away all your skills at it's start. So putting it in the middle of the game can make things seem disjointed. Personally I enjoyed it after playing through the main game.
There's no point if you already have the original and the DLC, unless you're just looking for an excuse to play through it again. It is a really good game though.
I was looking for somone to tell me "they patch the director's cut version now u can take it dude" but as i see this comment, i guess its not...
