Difference between Director's Cut and Ultimate Edition
What's the difference between this Director's Cut version and the Ultimate Edition version sold in the Mac App Store? The Director's Cut version sold here is cheaper than the one in the Mac App Store, but are there any other major differences between the two?

Ultimate Edition is the original release game + missing link dlc. Director's Cut is an enhanced version of the original which also includes the dlc.

Thanks for the replies guys. I however just went ahead and bought the Director's Cut. Hopefully I made the right choice.

You did because they fixed the boss fights supposedly in the Directors Cut. The original made it so that if you ran the game playing stealth you would die when you fought a boss because you didn't power up your weapons because you were playing stealth.

What do you mean by "it's just a joke"?

Don't worry about it, just another computer illiterate user complaining about fps issues.

There are a few registry changes you can make to fix them. Search for "deus ex human revolution director's cut registry fix"

Care to elaborate? I've had no issues since applying the tweaks.

I still don't understand why people is ranting about this version ...
... as for myself, I think this version is "awesome": in-game commentary, new approach to boss combats, new cut-scenes for some parts, various re-mastered areas, old dlc combined ... etc. I mean, shall you have played the "original" ... there is no reason not to love this new version.

does a non-lethal playthrough still award more xp than a lethal/mixed one?

@medavroog - in Director's Cut you have worse graphics, broken some textures, more bugs, worse optimalization etc.

Weird stutters, broken missions and nothing worth mentioning in regards to graphics. Cannot believe I picked in up for 3 bucks, even though I own the original, which I had no issues with whatsoever.

It's utter madness what they have done.

Noty to mention many points where the missions hang, Making it impossible to continue.. Unconcious people suddenly dying making the Pacifist achievement a crap shoot to get, AIs that sometimes go hostile even if you're behind a wall.. AIs that go THROUGH walls or ceilings.. There's a whole bug list.

They basically took the WiiU version and made a crappy port instead of taking the original Deus Ex they'd already patched many of these issues on and make THAT into director's cut.. Seriously. Texture and AI and hanging mission bugs were all patched.

As it stands APPARENTLY they know about the bugs and APPARENTLY there's a fix coming but it's been quite a few months now and I don't see anything yet.

Tempted to actually walk over there and see if I can find out what's going on in person somehow.

DC is 'enhanced' with bugs that weren't even present in the original, plus ones that were previously fixed in the original through patching within the first month of its release. You also get lower-resolution enhancements in many textures, as well as choppy and bugged..I mean 'enhanced' animations, as well as enhanced quests that can stop progress or unlocking achievements properly. Oh, the DCs Post Processing is also 'enhanced' in that it doesn't actually work...at all.
