Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut

Differences between OG and DC?
Hey guys, what are the differences exactly between both versions? A lot of people say the original is better, whilst others say this version is better.

How do they compare graphics-wise, performance (fps)-wise, difficulty-wise, and so on?

I also hear the Director's Cut has more bugs, are they game-breaking?

Thanks in advance.

Director's Cut have worse graphic, worse optimalization, more bugs etc. but have New Game+ mode, additional commentary from Eidos Montreal, 45 Minute Documentary, Reworked Bosses fight.

But for first play it is better to buy original edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and DLC. You can find it in digital here - http://isthereanydeal.com/

Maybe you can buy it somewhere in a box (but it can not have all DLC's - it depend's of box version of normal DX:HR).

You can find also a lot of other topic about Differences between normal and DC versions.

OG is better for: Stability, graphics and performance. It's also slightly more difficult.
DC is better for: Story and immersion, and is slightly easier than OG.

The bugs in DC aren't really gamebreaking for the most part; the bugs that are don't occur to everyone, it's mostly graphical and stuff.

Boss battles are reworked to give you more freedom and the dlc got integrated like it should have been.

The graphics aren't really worse, the only thing noticable is that the yellow tint is almost gone. You can look up a comparison video for that.

I finished the normal edition with the dlc and then I bought this. It was worth it.

@My Imagination - why do you think that DC is better for story and immersion? DC don't have gold filter, have worse graphics and performance. It don't help in immersion and the story is the same in DC and normal version with all story DLC.
@Nfear - but Missing Link DLC are worse and more boring than normal game. So, it is better than you can complete game faster without this DLC and play it after normal game if you want (it is possible only in normal NOT Director's Cut version of this game because Missing Link isn't integrated in it - it is show up as diffrent 'game' in you Steam Library).

This game have only few boss battles so it is not as important.

graphics: original much better
performance: original much better
difficulty: dc less challenging
bugs are game breaking: for me yes, it stutters everywhere i go and has other bugs that ruin my enjoyment of the game. the game is rather unstable too. for other people, some say they accept that the game stutters and don't notice the other bugs, while some have reported crashing and other more serious bugs
@My Imagination - but Missing Link was realeased some time AFTER main game. You don't need this DLC to complete a game. Story in the Missing Link is rather not as important as in the main game. BTW I finished normal game but I haven't finished Missing Link because it was too boring, repetitive etc.

List of bugs, missing items, etc. in DC (probably a lot of more than in normal game - maybe it VARY by user and his PC but still normal version have rather less bugs etc.) - http://steamcommunity.com/app/238010/discussions/0/810939350891608249/

What challenge? Where? Even original game is easy on HARD difficulty.
You can finish HARD mode without upgrading.
Come on man, how easy do you want the games to be?

Nope. If you buy DC, it will be a seperate entry in your library. Your old OG isn't affected at all.

Yeah this is a good point. I will definitely replay Deus Ex HR at some point but am not repeating the DLC. It seems designed to be a drawn-out fresh start for people wanting more Deus Ex some time after playing the game. Imagine you're just getting towards the climax of the main story and it throws you into Missing Link - yawn.

It would be really nice if the boss tweaks could be added to the main game, but it seems like everything else is a large step backwards. Even if they 'upgraded' people for free I would try as hard as I possibly could to opt out.

The New Game + sounds really nice. I usually have fun with that. Now you can augment ALL THE THINGS.
Smokey 16. Mai 2014 um 23:21
I would argue there's nothing better with this version. Disregarding stability and other issues I wish I could just buy the original off steam. I absolutely hate the aesthetic changes.
bla1z 17. Mai 2014 um 7:23
so, if the graphics are basically the same, why does it require more vram?

(sorry if its a dumb question. I'm not tech genius and I don't meet that spec on the dc edition, which is why I point it out)
@BDO - but New Game+ don't work with your save from normal version of this game. You have to play it again in DC (with more bugs) and after that you can play New Game+.
