They relate to the pheromones you can secrete during certain conversations. If you take note of which is most dominant, you can basically use the right approach and win the conversation without effort.

If you have the right augmentation for the pheromones, you can watch what personality type the person is and then use the correct pheromones to win the conversation. You can actually even guess the personality, Alpha - leader, person with strong will, Beta - second in command, weaker than Alpha, but still not a ♥♥♥♥♥. Omega - little ♥♥♥♥♥ that will cry if you poke him.
