Everyone is saying The Missing Link makes you lose Praxis
Is this true or not?

Because everyone in this forum says it is true.

The plot for the Missing Link involves all of the PC's augments being reset to "factory zero", which translates to losing all your existing praxis points. (This is partially because the Missing Link used to be a standalone DLC.) I haven't reached that point in the Director's Cut yet, but I'm told you get all your praxis points back when you return to the main story. So it's sort of like an enforced respec.

You come out of TML with exactly the same number of Praxis points you had going into it as long as you pick up everything from the appropriate equipment drop points near the beginning and end of the DLC.

When you start The Missing Link, it'll be as though you're starting the Sarif factory mission again. Nothing but basic augs. If you want a gun, you'll have to stab or punch a guard and take it from him.

Very shortly you will get a small number of praxis kits to help you boost a few of your favourite abilities back to acceptable levels. I suggest hacking every door/computer you can, even if you know the password, to get XP faster. By the end of the missing link I had manually regained about 80% of the powers I had prior to the missing link.

At the end of the game, you will receive every praxis point you lost when the Missing Link started, on top of any praxis you gained while playing the missing link. This is also a chance to "re-spec" your skills in case you regret any previous choices. E.g. if you invested in armour earlier but find that you didn't really need it, you can avoid upgrading armour when you buy skills again.

You will also regain any equipment you lost, on top of anything you gained during the missing link. So if you invested in a fully-upgraded 10mm pistol and got Tong's laser rifle earlier, you will get them back. Literally everything, including hacking software, painkillers, beer cans, grenades, every bullet, etc will be returned to you. Since you have an inventory limit, those items will be presented inside a crate so you can drop off your new stuff first before picking up your old stuff.

Yes,you lose Praxis but they give you some (enough) to complete the mission.Later in game when going to pancaya, they gave me 20 praxis

Only people who are too stupid to press huge, shiny crates and gun shaped boxes will 'lose' anything during missing link.

Hey guys, I'm at the Missing Link now.

I reached my gear at the start of the section, but it only gave me 8 praxis along with my weapons that don't have ammo in them.

Will I get my praxis back? All of it, not just 8?

Hey bro,I dont know if you get all your praxis but later in game they gave me 20 praxis just like that

You lose nothing.

Only people who are too stupid to click on big, shiny boxes will actually lose anything. The first time through, there's a cap on the amount of praxis you can bring over, so you can't 'farm' missing link to do the last stretch of the game with 80 praxis before you should have that amount.

I clicked a big shiny box at the start of the dlc and only got 8 praxis.

My question is, is there another box that gives me the rest of the praxis I had?

I just went through this yesterday. Yeah, after you beat the content it will restore the Praxis Points you 'lost' at the start of the DLC.

Alright guys I finished it.

I can confirm that you DO indeed regain all of your stuff back from the box at the end of the DLC.

However, all of your weapon mods are gone, and Silenced Sniper Rifle is not included in the items you get back.

Sounds like a bug in your file. I always have modded weapons by this point in the game, and I play with the silenced sniper rifle a lot, and I have never had an issue getting back any of these things.

for me the weapon mods are working just fine. playing through this section right now and using the heavily modded pistol with silencer and laser pointer is making it a cakewalk :P
