Shotgun vs Double Barreled Shotgun?

How good is the Double Barreled Shotgun compared to the regular shotgun? Both modded and unmodded.

Neither one could be described as 'good,' but the double kills medium enemies with a single blast, while the regular doesn't.

The spread kinda forces you to get up and personal, though. Also, inventory space. Double barrel shotgun uses barely any.

Well buddy, The Double Barrel shotgun Can't be unmodded. It comes automatically with the shotguns 'burst round special mod'. This makes it notably superior for a person who doesn't care about statistics. But they'll soon realise, that there's only 2 bullets in the 'magazine' there's only 3 mods that you can modify the double barrel shotgun with (doesn't include the magazine upgrade), 2 Reload Speed Upgrades and 1 Damage Output, this can num the pain. But the damage mod only puts it up by 3. So to be honest, if you're ready to mod. Get the Shotgun if you're ready to just shoot ♥♥♥♥ and be fast, get the Double Barrel. Note: The Double Barrel is the best Lethal weapon to use to get the 'Gun Nut' Achievement.

But yea, Shotgun is better for Modders / Perfectionists espically since it's an overall good and great weapon when fully modded

Double Barrel is for people who are just playing once / playing multiply times but in speedruns times.

That's about it. I don't recommend either though, The pistol when fully modded takes out Ogres in one hit (headshot). I'm a bit dissapointed that it doesn't have the silencer option on the Widowmaker, i understand on the DBS.

Oh just realised, another benefit of the DBS, because of it's low Moddability, you can have a secondary that is fully or almost fully modded.
