I think I broke the game

I am on the mission of "Hunting the Hacker", for this, I had to talk to the barkeeper, the one on the very first floor of "The Hive". He asked me a job for collecting some money from a broker girl once I hacked 3 antennas terminal, after that, I got the location of this girl and I offered my help trying to making a deal with this dirty barkeeper.

He asked me for 5000 credits in order to leave the girl alone, or collect the money from her...


So anyway, I started blasting in the Hive and I killed everyone, guards and the barkeeper.
Now, the main mission doesn't point me to a location, and I believe I can't complete lmao...
He was asking me for 5k credits!!! I had to shoot him...

Mission:
"The Hive owner is Tong Si Hung, a local Triad kingpin, If I can find him in the bar and speak to him, I may be able to locate van Bruggen"


Any tips?
Load and pay 5k or get the money unfairly from the broker girl???

You get a praxis kit for paying which is 5K, so if you want one saving the girl is just freebie.

Yeah, at the end, I ended up paying 5k, thanks for the reply.

But yes, I strongly believe I broke the game since I didn't have any means to complete the MAIN mission.

OP, it's kinda weird because in a way, you DIDN'T break the main mission. You see, there's an alternate way to talk to Tong. The guy manning the upstairs bar has the authority to get you a meeting with Tong, IF you can convince him to do so; you'll see why he can do that of you convince him. The mission given to you by the main floor bartender is a side-quest, and it has multiple methods of completing it.

I couldn't convince him, he refused to let me see van Bruggen which it turned out it was him actually... That's why I went to the other bartender with the side quest, but after wiping out all the bad guys in The Hive, there wasn't anything to do....

Pay the 5k, take cover behind the bar, taser the barkeeper, get your 5k back, sneak around the corner without getting seen and wait until the club visitors calmed down.

I will follow that approach on my next playthrough, actually, that's what I did, I took cover behind the bar but I didn't wait for civilians to calmed down.

You're welcome.

Make sure you use the taser. Melee attack didn't work for me (looked like people were able to see me when I stood up to knock him out), and the muffled pistol made way too much noise.

There is another way to find where the hacker is. It requires you to hack the keypad to the basement. Then crawl in the air duct nearest to Tongs office and listen to Tong from there.

I had so much money in this game that's 5k is almost nothing compare that you need to do to get it back. I'm almost in the last part of the game and I have around 30k. I don't even loot anymore and I'm at "give me deus ex" difficult

Or just beat the quest giver down and take the praxis kit from his body. Thats faster and doesn't cost money. Only problem is that all the guards and gangers in the hive saw it and wanted a beating aswell.
