Can you turn Icarus off?
I need to make a jump from one fire escape to another, and I know you can do it because I've done it before, but I have the Icarus aug now and it keeps kicking in right before I reach the other ledge. Can I turn it off so I can make the jump?

This is really annoying. I am looking at my jump arc and can tell that obviously I WOULD make the jump, but Icarus is kicking on in mid-jump and dropping me like a rock before I can finish it.

I hope I don't have to restart the game just to avoid this stupid augment.

I think the only way you can make that is with either increased sprinting speed or jump height. You shouldn't have to restart the game, nearly every area has some kind of conventional approach (ladders/vents/etc.).

I don't need increased sprinting speed or jump height. I can make the jump if I don't have the Icarus augment. It's the augment that's the problem, not whether or not I can make the jump. I can make it if I don't have Icarus.

So I'm guessing I have to restart and make a point to never buy this augment.

Funny how in every game I play if there is something buggy or completely useless, I end up finding it.

If you say so. Somehow I make all of my jumps and icarus never gets in the way. But hey, don't let me get in the way of throwing away all of your progress.

Me neither, if Icarus kicks in it must be a rason. Other language: you will fall. You can tell the specific location, jumo? Or a screenshot?

No the problem is Icarus is kicking in far higher than it should be. It's stopping me from completing difficult jumps.

I am thinking you guys aren't doing a lot of platforming. I'm an explorer - I'm trying to go to areas that are hard to reach, probably even places the devs never intended players to go. If I can jump on top of something to get someplace, I'm going to jump on top of something to get someplace.

If Icarus kicked in right before you hit the ground, it wouldn't be interfering with my gameplay. But it's kicking in 100 feet above the ground, stopping me in mid-air and dropping me straight down before I have completed my jump.

I'm doing a jump I was able to do before I had Icarus - it's difficult, but you can do it without any augments. But you have to sprint and jump and fly over a gap, and then fall a little bit before landing on the other ledge. Once I start falling Icarus kicks in and stops the jump, lowering me to the street.

I don't know how much better I can explain this. The problem is with Icarus, and if you aren't seeing it, it's because you aren't exploring or jumping as much as I am.

For me, Icarus is buggy as hell and is more of a penalty than it is a bonus. I would rather be able to complete my jumps and risk death if I miss one.

And yes, I restarted my game. I had too - I wasn't going to waste a Praxis on an augment that is this terrible.

Out of curiosity, has "exploring" the way you have made any significant impact on your game? Because I found Icarus extremely helpful because jumping floors was a lot more convenient for me than jumping to "extremely difficult to reach" ledges.

I've died a few times falling off of stuff, but there haven't been any areas where I absolutely had to use Icarus to reach. There are a few elevator shafts in the game with a long drop, but you can usually get to the bottom using a vent.

I like being able to jump around without the Icarus kicking in early, just my preference.

Far as i know, there is no way to turn off augments once you got them, short of cheating i guess.

It's a video on YouTube, A guy make a total factory zero run:
https://youtu.be/jdHjLjGqhBg

However, it's not about finding every secret place, just beat the game with no augs, weapons or takedowns.

You can also exploit the game's weird physics by riding boxes down long falls. If you don't want Icarus, that's totally up to you as you never need it to get anything in this game.

I have never had any of those situations you mentioned, though. I'm pretty sure you can just reach the fire escapes from the ground (assuming you are where I think you are).
