Deus Ex: HR - DC Patch
Greetings everyone. I've been reading that there are numerous bugs with this version of the game and that the Developers have abandoned support for it. How bad are the bugs, are any gamebreaking, and is there an unofficial patch?

I last played through it right before Mankind Divided came out and it was fine. The only thing I had to do was turn off Shader Cache in AMD Settings to stop the stuttering: http://i.imgur.com/BwovDlB.png

Gameplay-wise, I haven't run into any bugs at all.

no unofficial patch. They patched the game 1 month after release and nothing after that. Yes there are bugs, and yes there are gamebreaking bugs which hopefully you do not run into. The major game breaking bugs are bugs that don't allow you to progress into the next area of the game, such as having to take the medical shuttle in a city, yet not being able to get on the shuttle, thus, no continuing at that point.

Most of the other bugs aren't that bad, some dialogue bugs that might stop you from completing side quests, or sound bugs in asia that you have to go to another part of the city and return to get rid of them, stuff like that. To stop any gamebreaking bugs just do what you normally would do to keep such bugs down, save your game often so that if you run into them, you hopefully won't have to redo a big part of your current game to get back to the bugged area.

Again, most of those involve transfering from your current game map location into the next area, and those transfer points being bugged out so you can't use them, keeping you stuck in your current area. Just make sure to save often. The minor bugs you can do a search to see how to work around them.

Thanks. What should I look out for in the way of gamebreaking bugs? Any ideas why there hasn't been an unofficial patch or fix for the rest of these issues?

no there won't be any fixes to the game, they abandoned DC soon after releasing it and moved on to other games. Like i said, the game breaking bugs in the game involve moving between the game chapter areas, such as taking a helicopter to another area (and you can't access the helicopter), or taking the medical shuttle later in the game (you can't access the shuttle). The only way around these bugs is to reload an earlier save and hope the transfer point isn't bugged when you get there. So just make sure to save often and you won't have much trouble. Its rare to hit those transfer bugs, but people do hit them. Of the times i've played through I hit them once and had to reload an earlier save, but they aren't often. So like with any other game, save, save, save.

Thanks again. What a shame... this is a good game, what a rotten state to leave it in.

Playing both HR original and DC - this one I played for the first time -, I can say that DC has less crashes (the original still has memory leak issues for me in certain parts of Detroit and crashes happily in the maps between Sarif Industries and the Police Station) while DC has stuttering and horrible dynamic shadowing. Seriously, compared to the dynamic shadows of the original the DC seems an average console port. They flicker a lot and in some places depending on where you are looking at they disappear completely. This problem never occured to me in the original.
