Terrifying stutters
So i decided to get to this masterpiece once more and met one very irritating problem: game stutters very hard after i move to next area (Not location). It runs perfectly smooth just as long as i stand in one area. But if only i go to another street or get into some building, or go to backstreet, game grants me with bunch of microstutters for 3-5 seconds. I believe it has something with loading resources yet i didn't manage to find a solution. Any ideas?

This "Director's Cut" edition of the game (like so many other "remasters" this era) was originally designed for console and then ported over post-development to the PC.
This version in particular was meant to run on the Wii U at 30FPS

At 30FPS on the Wii U, the game runs "better" simply because the FPS and frametime target is much lower than what you're likely trying to run the game at (60 FPS or more)

The solution:

Go on a key website and buy a key for the original Deus Ex HR + Missing Link separately.
They aren't too rare and usually under $20.

I did the same and tested it.

The original version of the game runs at any FPS I set it too with near-perfect frametiming. No stutter or immersion shattering "hangs" when walking through the city.

Life isn't fair sometimes. Sorry you, like myself, got scammed into buying this version.

Cheers and hope you're able to enjoy the game by any means

Possibilities to consider;

Update Windows.
Verify your game files.
Update your graphics drivers.
Sometimes onboard graphics cards need to be disabled in your bios.
Type "disable onboard graphics" in Windows ( or any OS ) in any search engine.

Camera stuttering (stuttering while moving and looking around at the same time)
Fixing camera stuttering

There are multiple solutions that people have reported work:

- Change the ingame setting "fullscreen" to "no". If you press Alt+↵ Enter the game will go back to fullscreen, but the stuttering should be gone.

- If this doesn't fix stuttering in fullscreen but does fix it in windowed mode for Windows 7 users, right-click 'dxhr.exe' and open the Properties window, then navigate to the Compatibility tab and check 'disable visual themes' and 'disable desktop composition.' This could possibly fix stuttering in fullscreen.

- Stuttering can also be reduced by turning off triple buffering in the game menu.

- The last possible solution would be to use DX11 mode (VSync enabled) and then go in to the registry:

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC
Set D3D11_CREATE_DEVICE_PREVENT_INTERNAL_THREADING_OPTIMIZATIONS to 1.[

Poor performance

Some players have reported poor performance with the Director's Cut version.

Change registry settings[10]

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC
Open dword AllowJobStealing and set it to 0
Nvidia users only: go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\Deus Ex: HRDC\Graphics and change AtiForceFetch4 to 0

From the game's Pcgamingwiki page. Try one of these, the last one was the one which really helped me out. Couldn't make the stutter gone once and for all though...

My stuttering was reduced when I reinstalled the redists located in redist in the installation folder, then restarted my PC. Also for some reason using the steam browser in-game increased the stutters for me.

So what was your game state after that? Did you get stable 60 no matter what?

I had fixed 75 fps all the time, but the real experience still felt laggy.after changing that regedit parameter it felt slightly better, in the end I wasn't unable to fix it entirely and I went on with it

Tried absolutely everything and still no difference, its something that is genuinely deterring me from wanting to continue playing the game. I first wanted to play it since im a sucker for oldschool immersive sims and i wanted to know what they managed to do with the deus ex ip.

Apparently these issues aren't as common in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided so maybe ill just skim through some playthroughs of dehr to get an understanding of the story and move on. An ugly shame though, many older games have communities dedicated to them that find fixes or adjustments for every little thing, seems like games from 2010 era don't have something comparable.

None of the fixes above worked for me. Disabling Vsync makes them slightly less noticeable. Weirdly the FPS counter drops from 200 to around 100 fps when the stutter happens, but it's much more noticeable - it's like the game freezes for half a second.

No changes to regedit or graphics has fixed it for me. It's just the game is very badly optimized.

What the...
Why the hell does this game have such insane FPS drops? It stutters and than it drops jesus christ...

Try turning off triple buffering in the graphics menu. It may help.

This solved my problem. Thank you!

Turning vsync to "fast" via Nvidia Control Panel is what solved this problem for me, forgot to come back and mention it. You go to Nvidia Control Panel, then "Manage 3D settings" then you switch from "Global Settings" to "Program Settings" , find Deus Ex: Human Revolution and click it, then scroll down on the Feature list until you get to Vertical sync, then change it to Fast.

Instantly solved the problem for me and had 0 stutter or lag for the rest of the game. Luckily I did this early on.

This game is notorious for being horribly optimised and its "Director's Cut" suffers from the same if not more performance issues.
