New Game vs New Game+...
Just finished the game, and I notice that there is now another option in the start menu...New Game +. It appears right above the New Game option...I was wondering if anyone has any information on this. Is there any difference?

Thanks

You get to keep all your augs from your previous playthrough.

Copied from the forums at eidosgames.com:

"Long version: once you've finished the game once, a new option will appear in the main menu screen: "New Game+".

Clicking it will let you choose difficulty, so you can finish it on easy and do the new game+ on Gimme Deus Ex.

Once you finish the tutorial (which will play out exactly like normal, no augments, one combat rifle) you'll get all the augments you had before, but our inventory and wallet will both be completely empty."

Thanks for that...yea I figured that out as soon as I started a new game +...lol.

Which brings another question...If I go ahead and play with all my previous augs installed, will achievements unlock? I decided to do a speed run for the cheevos I didn't get first time (Foxiest Hound and Pacifist and Legend). But I'm thinking the achievements won't (or shouldn't) be available if I'm starting the game nearly max'd out.

Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think they do work in NG+. Don't see why they wouldn't.

OK...thanks. Guess only way to find out is give it a try. Too bad all the achievements I'm after are game-end ones...maybe to be safe, I should just start a regular game (more fun anyway).

Thanks again.

Now, just so you know, the one about the different endings... you can get them all in the same playthrough, if that's one of the ones you want. You can just hit ESC, skip (credits), then load your most recent save and try a different one. The achievement will pop-up after you select the 4th one..

Yea, I already did that and got that achievement. But thanks for the tip, anyways. :freebeer:

Ahh, ok. I just didn't want you to go all the way through it again just for an ending. :-)

Be careful about the scholar achievement (collect all readables). It did not work for me on NG+

Thanks for the tip, but I already got all achievements except the Foxiest Hound, Pacifist, and Legend (hardest setting). So I'm trying to do a speed-run of sorts for those three. Starting out with all my augs already active, it should be pretty easy, even on Give Me Deus Ex. But it's good to know that maybe some achievements DON'T unlock on NG+.

I already got 100% on the vanilla version a couple of years ago, so I'm not worried about doing it here. My only concern is that, with the NG+, will all the other game-end cheevos be awarded. And since I have to wait till the end of the game to find out, it might be a wasted run.

I went ahead on NG+, even tho I should probably have done it on regular, just to be sure. Besides, I'm finding it pretty boring...going for Pacifist and Foxiest isn't real exciting to begin with, and now, I don't even have the 'joy' of garnering xp to be able to unlock that next must-have augmentation...lol.

You have the all the augs with +. Though if you want a challenge i suggest not as you can literally finish the first level by cloaking yourself to zeke

The only thing for NG+ is Im concered it not gettting ahievements. The ones I need are either mid game or end of game.

You get the achievements. That was a concern of mine as well, and I got them.
