Playing Deus Ex with xbox one controller
Hi, I've read here that the compatibility with the controller is not full:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/238010/

I have bought(I have just paid for it) a xbox one controller to play computer games but I don't have the controller yet. Can I use this game with the controller and there is some difference regarding the use of computer(due to the compatibility problem). How can resolve this problem? I have never used a gamepad with the computer, although I think xbox one controller is plug-and-play.

I DON'T want to change the code of some files if I don't need to do it, I'm looking for something easy.

Not sure why it says this. Only thing that is an issue with it is at the very start you need to use the mouse to choose some graphics settings.
After that the controller works fine.

i just played thru w a ps3 controller and like other full support games had the controller icons and no problems at all. you will be able to plug and play.

edit: if you keep the mouse near you it makes hacking A LOT easier and faster. (you can use the mouse and controller at same time unlike skyrim, fallout, etc.)

If you are playing the title in Windows 10 then XBox One Controllers have native support; the only issue afterward is that the game supports controllers/gamepads. If the game would not have controller support the issue could still be worked around using a keymapping utility.

Conclusion is simple, the game would have controller support if you desired it enough regardless.

Just remember that XBox One controllers (newer versions) use bluetooth for wireless connectivity so you may need an adapter if you use a desktop --most all laptops come with bluetooth so all is good there. The Xbx1 Controller will also need usb 2.0-3.0 for wired connectivity as it can charge from USB now like it would when connected to an Xbox.

Thinking about getting one of the new XBox One S Controllers myself --they work with newer titles and 360 era titles as well, so you are good to go there.

Take care.

if nothing works, steam added a update that made the steam controller configuration tool is availabe, just plug it in, launch big picture mode on steam and go into settings and fiddle with it if a game doesnt support the controller, you can make it support a controller. the other day i played civ 5 with my xbox controller

There is some games that doesn't support full compatibility and this could be a problem in the future.

Thank you for all. I will definetaly buy a XBox 1 Controller but I don't know if this will be usefull to play newer titles in the future. I can't buy the new XBox One S Controllers and I bought the older one, the XBox1 controller. Although I have to be changing the battery frequently due to the fact that this controller uses battery.

Where can I find a keymapping tutorial to understand how to proceed just in this case?.

Strongly recommend you buy a charger pack. Essentially a rechargable battery you charge by plugging it in, then it charges then unplug and you can play without a wire again. It is going to be far cheaper veryw uickly to do this.
