Reflex booster worth it?
Is this skill really worth the 2 points? I mean yeah it's fun to use but it only gives you 45 extra exp per use as far as I can tell. I'm guessing the opportunities to use it are fairly limited as well.

Actually there are a fair number of places where it's quite useful if you're in a stealth play through. Lots of times that two guards are standing together chatting, for example. But it's really down to your play style. And probably less a question of, "do I really need this," and more, "do I need this right now or is there something I need more."

Yes if you are going for Ghost bonuses it can really come in handy to do double takedowns. And that happens a lot. There are even a couple of missoin that require you not to be seen and this skill is a really handy on those. And there actually is a lot of instances where two guards are together.

for any praxis it's fully depending on how you play

if you ignore most things and go gun blazing then it has no real value
if you go stealth and like to explore there is no harm in getting it

furthermore if you like to explore

i am currently halfway trough lower hengsha ( that's nowhere near end game yet )
and i have

full hacking + fortification + hacking stealth
heavy lifting
high jump
CASIE
reflex booster
icarus landing ( or what'ever it's name is - slips my mind now )
upgraded battery recharge ( i only use 1 battery regardless so no point for me in getting multiple ones )
smartvision

and i have 1 praxy on standby
+ only 350 esp away from another praxy ( so give or take 10 minutes )
( aka in 10 minutes i will have rebreather as well )
( which will allow me to go everywhere and anywhere i want with nothing stopping me )

gatherd by normal progression under

hacking everything - cause i want to read everything
picking up pretty much all ebooks i can find ( and since it ewplroe that is pretty much all ebooks there are )
and the personal achievement i run

" getting ghost while also non lethally taking down everyone " <- this one is maybe just me :p
( i do find that deus ex is easier in this regard then dishonored, dishonored is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to do it like that :) )

--------------------------------------
but yeah, i'm not halfway yet and i already have everything unlocked that is remotely usefull really

as to showcase that a decission is only based on the current relevance
if you want you can easily get all augmentation and shouldn't worry about wether or not it is worth it

if it seems uesefull right now, then get it
the rest will come later :)

rebreather for instance - up to lower hengsh there are only 2 situation in where it is usefull
so in the greater scene it's pointless to rush it really
until ofcourse you want to go that one way and can't :p

-----------------------

where are you in the game ?

first time detroit has no real use for it
hengsha has some people with the nice opportunity and i know second time detroit is repopulated to suit it better as well

Absolutely! Much more then in MD, as well. It works better (better detection for double takedown, in MD it's glitchy, sometimes you get right up to 2 guys and you only take down 1 of them, even though you have booster, that don't happen in HR), and there are a lot more opportunities to use it in HR, plenty of guards paired up in close proximity talking to each other. I see it as a poor-man's version of Typhoon, that is silent and uses no ammo.

I noticed that in most double take down situations you can attack from a direction so the two opponents are in line.As soon as I initiate the first attack, I press "w" and "q" simultaneously. As soon as the first attack is finished, the second one starts. Be sure you use an energy bar before you start, I frequently didn't hae energy for second attack. Next time I'll try without using Praxis points on double takedown , it take two --so many precious P points.

i believe you misunderstood it's function

it simply allows 2 people to be taken down "simultaneously" ( if the situation is correct aka them standing close enough together --- pretty much everyone in a conversation fits that situation )
( and it has it's own set of "cool" animations :) )

you taking down 2 oponents in succesion is just you doing 2 regular takedowns after each other :)
( equally effective but more energy consumption )

double takedown only requires 1 battery for the both to be taken down

---
look it up on youtube
it's easier to describe it as a visual then as text :)

It's one of the most potent augs in the game, and since the devs really love putting dudes together in pairs, you can farm a lot of experience very, very easily, as well as get constant 'two for one' usages out of your takedowns. MD almost completely removes paired baddies, but HR is rife with them. You can also substitute hostiles with friendlies and neutrals in HR.

One of the nice things is it only uses one energy block I'd say it's worth the 2 point investment
