well i think it depends on what type of person you are. if you're looking for a nice game to play in any other places than home or office and so on, you should get the iOS version. I think it's a lovely game to play while traveling.
i myself don't have it on iOS, since i don't have applestuff, but stoic said it was originally planned for phone/tablet, so it makes sense that it would do great on these devices. think i would recommend tablet/iOS therefore. (think depending on which phone you have screen may be little bit small for my taste)...not that i'm no fan of my pc version, but the possibility to play this easy everyhwere sure seems nice :D
Same here.
I would appreciate comparisons. Not smartass answers.
Compare to what? As I said, I haven't played the game on anything other than on Windows/Steam/PC. And, I would recommend the PC version anyhow, because PC is sooooooo much better than iOS on everything other than portability.
Uninformed and foolish you are.
I think the question was "how do they compare, exactly", not "which platform is ideally better".
tsk tsk tsk...
Steam/PC is much better than iOS (if you don't mind the un-portability).
The UI is a bit cluttered on the tablet, and sometimes (especially in combat) you need the "big picture" and, that you can't get on the tablet, unless you zoom in/out all the time. Also, loading-times for battles are quite long on the iOS; as you know, it aint super-fast on PC either, but problems are much bigger on the low-RAM/low-CPU-speed tablets. Finally, some people complained that the ~1.5GB installation file is a bit of a pain to download and install; steam is much more streamlined for that type of large games. I guess the controls ain't so problematic as the whole interface was designed with tablets in mind, and as you know the whole game can be played with just the right mouse button...
Thanks anyways for the responses. I got it on the iPad eventually.
So, what's your opinion of the iOS version, now that you've played it? Do you regret your decision or was it the way to go? Both are on sale right now - would love to have some opinions from those who have played both.
I have not played the PC version. But all I can say is, content wise, they are basically 100% the same. It all comes down to the controls. Do you want to sit on a PC and use mouse controls, or do you want to play on the go or in your bed on your tablet using touch controls?
One thing I can say is that the touch controls feel slightly imprecise, in the sense it may need a few tries at times to select the tile you want to. However, this may simply be because I am on the smaller iPad Mini, and on the larger 10-inch iPad, this may not be so much of an issue.
Yeah, it's half price on iOS. Good time to get it!
