Also, having rank-1 Alette & Oddleif isn't a good idea, especially if your other dudes perished. Getting them girls to rank-3, even now, shouldn't be so difficult (its 5 kills + 15 Renown each), and its strongly advised. Their passive ability (Puncture) is ultra-useful against the high-Armor Dredge: An enemy that has lost 10ARM will suffer a +5 damage from a standing-still-archer attack. So, the strategy is: Break enemies, keep your archers' strength intact and bring them in-range for the next turn's shot-to-kill!
Replaying from start might be too long, so I say keep going. Loading from the start of Chapter 5 should be enough to correct any mistakes.

An "experienced" level advice is this: Don't buy any items from market, except, maybe, that +2Break item (called "Worldhook"). Why? If you spend your Renown on promoting Heroes, and be careful to locate items (most are related to Godstone events), then you'll have a huge store of high-rank items by Chapter 6, when things start getting hairy....
