just installed The Banner Saga on Linux (openSUSE 12.3 64bit, AMD Phenom II X4 955, Nvidia 760GTX with 352.41) without beta branch. Did have some heavy lags and fps where going down to 25).
With the beta branch I get steady 60fps and no lags.
Thank you. And now I have to play The Banner Saga.
System: Debian Jessie with R9 290 and MESA Drivers.
Oops... Let me pinpoint this to the devs.
UPDATE: It seems that some of latest additions included in the default branch have not been passed to the linuxfix brach. So, no Italian in the linuxfix for the moment. Don't ask me "When?", because the priority now for Stoic is TBS1 ports for XBox & PS and TBS2 release...
Kudos! I assume that if the localization files are there (e.g. downloaded when not in the linuxfix beta branch), that would do it. I'm gonna put this info in the top post; thanks again.
In the normal build, the game was entirely unplayable. I have a pretty solid machine, but I was only getting 1-2 FPS in battles and many sprites would remain entirely frozen (ie: an enemy would be killed, but his sprite would remain standing). With this beta branch, everything is running very smoothly.
distro: Arch Linux x86_64
kernel: 4.2.5-1
window manager: AwesomeWM
ram: 32124 MiB
proc: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690 CPU @ 3.50GHz
gpu: GeForce GTX 760
Can't say. Stoic currently have TBS2 and PS4/XB TBS1 ports higher on their priorities for the following months. Setting the linuxfix branch as the "default" branch doesn't seem such a big thing, but there must be some reason they're not doing it =/
When I use Oddleif ability Rain of Arrows, the enemie trigger the ability effect but keep walking, stop at the end of the animation, take damage and become stuck, don't attack or end its turn... it's impossible to finish the combat.
The bug occurs every time I used Rain of Arrows ability. Some minor bugs happend too, like an enemie killed still on foot after death...
I'm playing it on Hard difficult.
