2nd Battle in War Difficulty...
So, i'm doing my hard playthrough.... Question is, is the 2nd battle in a war affected by your initial choice of battle?

For example, I chose to charge half the 1,000 dredge force sacking the village early in chapter 3. I'm at about... 55% strength. Because I charged, will the 2nd battle be easier or harder?

Is the second battle affected, at all, by the choice? Would I be better served just 'holding the line' or whatnot, in all Wars if i wanted to pursue the 2nd fight.

Well if following logic, yes the 2nd battle should be harder if you pick an harder choice for the 1st. You charge right ahead, there's gonna be more showing up once you're done with the 1st part, it makes perfect sense. I can't confirm that it do is the case cause I almost always picked the hardest choice, but 2nd battles did seem to be easier the few times that I didn't.

Edit; Tom Berenger played LongStreet, and he would know about this :P

I think the 2nd waves spawn enemies of about the same "power" as the first waves... So, I suggest picking that fight only if you're in really good shape (after the 1st wave). Also, they spawn randomly on the board edges; to avoid big trouble, make sure you gather all your units in the board middle, especially the weak ones (archers), before you kill the last enemy of the 1st wave.

I just finished the audible version of Killer Angers (the book Gettysburg was based on). As a southerner, it was a real emotional ride. I legit had tears hot on my cheeks when Picketts line "But General Lee, I HAVE no Division" came.

>.> Random promo. lol. The movie and the book are perfect compliments. Having faces in mind as the narrator carried on was fantastic.

Anyway, anyway. Thanks guys. I'll do a bit more experimenting. Part 2 (the second war) of that battle was super weird. I believe i used 'formations', and only had 2 1 (scourge,1 grunt) enemies. I obv. fought the second battle, and only had 1 enemy appear.

I think I posted about this somewhere before but basically, the numbers in a battle also depend on on your varl/fighters. I don't really know the exact forumla but, for example; I had 960 varl vs some 550 dredge and only 3 dredge popped up on the battfield compared to my 6 heroes when I took the charge option.

There you go :)

And you will love Gods & Generals, then. Lang is simply majestic as StoneWall. Too bad The Last Full Measure book didn't get it's movie companion.
