Can some expert explain this debuff nonsense
It's getting tiresome.

How am I supposed to get 70k points when all face cards are debuffed? This is just stupid and makes me wish I didn't have over 2 hours in. I had a Hiker and Supernova card in this run and and got dropped with the face card debuff. :unpopular:

Would totally refund this crap due to this and also when they flip the cards over.

Unless I'm missing a way to prevent this?

What I'm saying is Hiker did its thing already, it's not too beneficial to keep it. Golden joker is very nice, but you are reaching the end of the game, it's about maxing scores now.

So you could have sold one of the two jokers, if not both of them, search the shops, buy a +chip joker instead for example and you would have probably won. That $29 bankroll would have been better being used than sitting there. Of course, interests are important, but as I said, you're at ante 7, it's alright to sacrifice interest (use that bankroll) to make it more likely to survive the boss.

Debuffed cards only lose their individual value. They still count as a poker hand, ie. pair, full house, etc. They don't bother me that much tbh.

Wow 36 hours in and I've never had (or noticed) that boss blind lol...

All I can say is this is a roguelike, you're not gonna win every game and bad luck is a mechanic of roguelikes.
Try another run and you might get a reroll boss blind voucher to avoid something against your build in future.

You're only losing 50 base chips with them being debuffed as you have no face card trigger jokers. It's not detrimental to your run - having a set of average common jokers by ante 7 is.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yeah, you can out-scale that boss or any boss that debuff your hand. You need to know the importance of planet cards, taking the right joker at certain time, and deck manipulation.
