Game gets extremely laggy and crashes after a while

I'm really really confused about this. After playing the game for a while, it eventually begins to lag a lot. Then it just freezes up and crashes. Does anyone else have this issue?

No, it's definitely not my hardware.

I also have this issue. It worked fine for months, but in the later part of 2024 it started acting up. Will work find for 15ish minutes and then it starts getting laggy till it eventually crashes. No other games acts this way so I don't believe it could be anything else but Balatro. I'll put my specs up just because I know someone will think I'm stupid anyways even though I do not have this issue with any other game and the game used to work fine before. I've changed nothing in terms of hardware from when I first started playing the game till now.

Definitely a memory leak. It has only happened to me while screensharing to discord. No other game does it. Very weird.
It releases the memory if you cancel screensharing and go to main menu before it crashes.

Unsure if iv actually solved the issue my end, i changed my display to native resolution and full screen which seems to of helped, monitoring ram i notice my ram goes up at some point, alt tabbing or unfocusing the game seems to reset the issue.

same for me, not sure why I have to press every time shift+win+B to stop the screen tearing and going black; then it works...

i found that for some reason borderless was the culprit. playing in windowed saves my life, although not sure what difference it really makes or why borderless is a problem. obs also doesnt really like me playing balatro if im encoding with NVENC H.264?? so im just using x264 instead lmfao

Same issue here. Memory leak with Nvidia 4070 + Borderless + Discord screenshare.
Also when using Parsec, if the game is fullscreen or borderless, the stream can't do more than 10fps (no issues when playing windowed)

yeah better fix is to put it to windowed "-" and the use 'Borderless Gaming' to stretch it out if you wanna fullscreen

update i have a logitech keyboard with lightsync which is set to sample the screen colours and put the average colour on the keyboard back-light, if i don't have it running i don't seem to have the issue anymore.
