how do you use tarot cards?

i have them in inventory, but only the sell option is available. am i trying at the wrong time?

They typically enhance cards in your hand. So you need to be playing a blind with a hand of cards in front of you. If the Tarot says 'enhances up to two cards', select 1-2 cards and Use will be available. Be very careful with the Death card that changes the left card into the right one. Remember that you can manually move the cards in your hand to make sure you are duplicating the correct one.

This doesn't actually play the cards so you can play additional cards/different cards if you want to.

Many tarot cards have an effect on regular cards (deck cards). But you can't use those unless you have cards in hand. You have cards in hand when you are facing a blind or when you buy an arcana pack, for example.

What you do is select, from your hand, the cards that will work with your tarot card and then you click the tarot card to use it.

You have to use them while your hand is on-screen.

So you can use them during a blind, while opening a Tarot pack, or while opening a Spectral pack.
