how do i go past the joker limit without negative jokers? I can't find any

5/6 max jokers is too restrictive imo. When I actually get the good ones I'm too deep into the run to switch up my tactics and when I try doing so i always lose.

There is one voucher that increases joker space by 1. Black deck starts with one extra as well. Other than that you're limited to 5. 5 is plenty. You can easily beat ante 8 with 10x the number of points you need with only 2 or 3 jokers.

Without a joker limit the game would be trivial to beat. That resource limitation is very much an intended part of the challenge.

Don't be afraid to switch up tactics if a stronger one becomes available. You need to assess if will actually improve your position, but one of the key tricks is to play the game in front of you, not some theoretical optimal build.
