How to unlock Legendary Jokers?

I unlocked one, one time, and have no idea how. Further more, I've played dozen's of games since then and have never seen that unlocked legendary joker since.
How do you unlock them, and where do they come from once you have? I feel like an idiot, ty for bearing with me.

You only ever get them from Soul cards, AIUI. Unlocking them only puts them in the collection, it doesn't change their appearance.

Soul cards are extra-rare and can appear in spectral or tarot packs, I believe, though I've only found them in tarot packs because those are bigger and more common.

There is no "unlocking" them, they're always available. Just extremely, extremely rare.
Buying tarot packs, each card drawn in them has a 0.3% chance of being The Soul, which gives you a random legendary.
Spectral packs have the same odds, but give less cards and share the odds with Black Hole planet cards meaning you're less likely to find them there (though mostly because of the less cards, the odds of overwriting a successful The Soul draw with a Black Hole one are 0.0009%).

Every card option in a tarot or spectral pack each has a 0.3% chance to be replaced with a soul card. So rough odds are 0.9% in standard tarot packs and 1.5% in jumbo/mega tarot packs, 0.6% in spectral packs, and 1.2% in jumbo/mega spectral packs. Essentially you can just say every tarot/spectral pack has about a 1% chance of it.

I think you have to draw them from Legendary Soul first, but after that they do show up in the shop.

They will only appear from soul cards, never in the shop like other jokers.
