In the meantime, when I personally get screwed by RNG, I take it as an opportunity to practice patience and let go. There are things we don't have control over in the world and it's no use feeling upset and still trying to assert control over those things. This game for me is a really good reminder of that.
Couldn't agree more.
Thanks for the reply.
Chip stacking is only useful in the early game but after ante 4 or 5 chips become mostly useless jokers unless you have gotten no planets or are going for low-chip hands.
For endgame ante 12+ theres really only 1-2 viable strategies that I have encountered so far due to the jokers being so selective in terms of what is actually good.
However, my biggest cause of frustration is because it appears to be only psuedo-random. Like it clearly generates a list of jokers that you will see on this run, and the others are just not possible or extremely unlikely. I just got off an ante 18 run. I had amazing finances, I rerolled 10+ times every shop. I saw the same jokers 10+ times in the shop but not once did I find photograph that I was looking for. Its clearly not random; theres some hidden algorithm forcing you into certain jokers which is insanely frustrating because I may need 1 specific joker to make a build but I may never get it because its not "selected" in the hidden joker list.
So if you can't win at white stake with it, it's not a RNG problem.
I mean, no? Unless you are in a high stake, Ante 8 is far too easy for endgame. I don't play any round with the intent to make to just ante 8, and I only build for things that would make it much farther. Normally by the time I'm in ante 8 we are well into the millions on each hand, or I would have lost before then.
Ante 8 is more like the middle spot, halfway point, like the step back how am I doing spot.
It's cool you think so, always good to have a different perspective.
But ante 8 is the endpoint, its when the game lets you know you won and should start a new run. After that, you're playing until you lose.
Unless the creator wants to redesign things, everything is going to be scaled and balanced for ante 8.
I don't know if winning is that important.
Its really not balanced for ante 8 is the problem. Some jokers are, like +10 mult ones or something. Then you have retrigger mechanics getting you to the billion score mark by ante 6 which makes ante 8 look like a joke. Just a simple few planet levels and Hanging Chad + Photograph can clear ante 8 by itself.
Thats one of my complaints, the imbalance where some jokers are clearly MUCH weaker than others. Some jokers are like, OK whew we gotta work to win this run. Others are like well I guess this run is over, lets build on this and try for Ante 20.
