Campfire is still very powerful, even without specific synergies or a good econ. If you combine it with either tier of discount voucher or if you have a good econ it's still absurdly powerful and carries runs.

Campfire was too powerful. It used to be +0.5 and it made no sense.
Current campfire should guarantee you win a run, and that's good enough for me.

With clearance sale vouchers or rentals (in higher stakes), campfire is ridiculously easy to ramp up.

No. It seems fine as-is.

The only time Campfire hasn't been effective for me was when I was already struggling with bankroll and income. That seems like a "me" problem, not a Campfire problem.

That's simply not true. All you need is a large bankroll which you can amass in a number of ways.

Anyway, there is supposed to be some content patch in the future.
