Hello Men;
Do you have the CRT effect on or off? Is the CRT effect harmful to the eyes?

All I'm saying, the main thing they warned would make me go blind if I did too much of it hasn't affected my eyesight yet. CRT ain't gonna do NOTHIN'
If they have warned you, it would be more logical to off it.

I believe it's just preference. I personally always turn it off for games that have it as an option because it makes the game look ugly and sometimes harder to see certain things. I don't find it adds to any immersion, it's just annoying to look at.
Am I allowed to respond to this since you opened with "hello men?" If you care for my preference I use max CRT settings.

Hand up anyone in this thread who actually SAW a CRT in the wild, as opposed to just hearing about it - it'll probably be age-banded :)

I have it off because I prefer it. I hadn't even heard it could damage eyesight, AFAIK only blue-light does that.

Am I crazy or the reason we weren't allowed to sit too close to our CRT TVs or stare at them for too long was the actual radiation?

Sure, staring at any screen for too long wouldn't be great, but how does a digital CRT replication on an LCD/ LED/ OLED cause any more harm than looking at the same screen without the said effect?

I don't understand this either. In the past, people who had CRT monitors would demand to buy LCD monitors. Now, some modern games include CRT effects in their games. The reason is nostalgia. This is weird. CRT effects and monitors are more harmful to the eyes than LCD screens. Our fathers and mothers used to tell us this. How right they were.
Was technology better in the past? Does technology become obsolete as time goes by?
