Treat it as good or bad news, but yes, you are bad. We all started there. Some play 30h before a 1st win, 5h is nothing.

You'll be happy to know that while RNG is part of the game, the whole point is to know the game well enough that you find opportunities in whatever RNG the game will throw at you.

Anyone can play enough to reach a point where they win at will at white stake, with any deck.

Try to learn something from each failed run and you'll improve very fast. Promised.

Don't Feel Discouraged

It took me 19 hours to get my first win, this was when the game released & before they made balance changes, when starting over on a new profile after those updates, I won relatively fast, not even close to 19 hours, so just give it time, you'll get there

I suggest, what ever jokers you get to play around what hands you are given as bonuses, work for that first, but later you'll want to focus on one type if available & above all else, don't ignore planet cards, they help immensely not just Jokers

As a consolation prize, once you win, you will likely unlock greater cards that will help you win, I assure you, but if not, you eventually will once you understand it all

It's dead easy to win. Focus on jokers with multiplicative effects (3x multiplier, instead of +3 multiplier), and put them to the right of jokers with additive effects. Make sure you have a strategy that allows you to reliable get one big additive bonus and then as many multiplicative ones as you can. If you do that you'll clear ante 8 winning most blinds on hand 1.

Cards with multiplicative multipliers (xMult) aren't needed to "win" (Ante 8). If you can get a good mix of +chips, +mult, and level up a commonly played hand, you'll be able to win with the proper hand dealing RNG. Of course, the xMults definitely help, especially in endless mode. But I think achieving a first win can focus on less at a time.

Money is super important: you get additional 1$ interest for every 5$ (capped at 25$), so you should try to save as much as possible in the early game. This will let you buy more jokers and planet cards for your developing build.

The temperance and hermit tarot cards help substantially with your money as well.

I just got my first win after 11 hours, so no, I wouldn't say that. It can be challenging when you are first starting to know what to prioritize. But you'll figure it out.
