Sadly, version 1.0.1n-FULL has some serious problems on the M3.
- the frame rate is all over the place, regardless of window size, fullscreen-windowed mode or vsync. As in dips of 40 fps or so at a time.
- turning on vsync causes even major performance problems. Without vsync on, the fps can be around 90fps (though still highly variable), but turn vsync on, and suddenly you have 30fpf-50fps frame rates.
- you can't Command-Tab out in Fullscreen mode. So you can't even check the time or check your mail or anything. An exceedingly poor experience for a card game. Whereas on Windows, I can switch in out of the app at any time.
- so, Windowed/Bordered mode is required.
- but, windowed mode produces visual artifacts, and so far, 3 crashes in 2 minutes.
- the gme and music don't pause when the app is switched out. They absolutely should.
Balatro works, but keep in mind that not every game works perfectly in it.

Weird. The only problem I noticed is that the framerate drops a lot if I'm playing on battery (but it remains stable at ~45 FPS). Which MacOS version are you running? I'm on Sequoia 15.2.
Interesting. Thanks for that, I'll check it out.
I'm on 14.7. I'll try updating, see what happens.
Since the Macbooks are all Retina devices, and so have very high resolutions, it may behoove the dev to build in a "double pixel" mode, to reduce GPU performance requirements. Such a mode should barely noticeable (if at all) with a game like this, but could help frame rates a lot.
